Description of the Project:
The Media Luna (Rodeo Arena) of Rancagua is the most important sport complex destined for the Rodeo, the Chilean national sport. The Rodeo is the traditional sport by excellence and an icon in the Chilean culture.
The Media Luna of Rancagua is home to the well-known Champion of Chile, the most important Rodeo event where the locally best-known breeders and equestrians compete for the main prize.
During the mid 90s, the Chilean Rodeo Federation decided to build the Media Luna to have a place of better quality for the celebration of the Champion of Chile. The architect Alberto Sartori was asked to be in charge of the design and it was finally inaugurated in April 18th, 1997, after more than a year of construction.
