Poch shares its experience to increase the environmental security in the use of this these types of energies.
Description of the Project:
The National Commission of Nuclear Energy (CCHEN) is a public organism in charge of the nuclear energy usage development and control in Chile. Its greatest contribution to the country is radioactive isotope manufacturing for using in medical diagnosis and treatments indispensable for the population health. Some examples are the Iodine therapy and some treatments for cancer.
The main radioactive isotopes generated in the nuclear reactors of our country are Tectenio 99 metastable (99mTc), Iodine 131 (131I), Gold 198 (198AU) and others. In addition, CCHEN carries out the certification of all the equipment and instrumentation that use radioactive elements for their operations, such as the X Ray medical equipment, density meters used in construction, etc. Finally, it accomplishes the important duty to dispose the nuclear waists produced in Chile, storing these nuclides in a safe manner during its long disintegration life. All of the above supports the important work that this organism performs in the development of Chile.
The Nuclear Energy Center verifies in a permanent way its liquid discharges, reason why they decided to implement a continuous and real time monitoring system, of the nuclear radiation levels in these discharges.
Our importance:
Poch developed the electrical, instrumentation and Detail Engineering, in addition to the radiation monitoring project automation, carrying out the configuration and programming of the radiation spectrum analyzers.
The implementation of physics formulas had to be set up for the implementation of nuclides identification techniques and the radioactive activity analysis of the detected nuclides.
Essential benefit:
Poch participates in this important project of environmental security that contributes to the continuity of functions of the nuclear energy Centers, indispensable for Chile, in harmony with the civil society.
