Poch participates in the Engineering of a project of vital importance for the future development of its client Sociedad Chilena del Litio.
Description of the Project:
Given the world-wide demand increase of lithium carbonate, Sociedad Chilena del Litio, member of the international group Chemetall, one of the greatest lithium producers in the world, undertakes an extension project of 36 to 54 million pounds/year.
Our importance:
Poch participates in the development of Basic and Details Engineering in all the project specialties, also having a strong presence in the project management of equipment purchases.
The implementation of this project implied intervening an existing operating plant, with high complexity engineering development, as all the designs took into account the least interference possible with the plant’s production.
Poch also participates in the development of the environmental impact declaration of the project, allowing our client to operate the plant with all its permits to date.
Essential benefit:
The construction of this project was finished in 2006, allowing our client to have a strong position in the Lithium market and leaving a plant operating with possibilities to increase the production up to 80 million pounds/year, thus consolidating the Sociedad Chilena del Litio as one of the greatest Lithium producers in the world.
