Poch developed for its client Smartcom PCS the electrical and civil engineering for the radio based antennas installation project throughout the country.
Description of the Project:
Smartcom PCS, a brand initially known as Chilesat PCS and now known as Claro, is one of the 3 telecommunication companies with the highest participation in the Chilean market of cellular telephony. In the year 2000 it already counted more than 200,000 clients, amongst a battle of prices impulsed by the liberalization of telephone communication services in Chile.
Our importance:
Poch contributed to Smartcom PCS with the engineering of the electrical and civil specialties, designing more than 100 radio bases sites throughout the whole of Chile. With this it contributed to the expansion of the company’s coverage in its cellular telephony services, which by the end of 2000 already reached 250,000 people.
Essential benefit:
Smartcom PCS extends its coverage maintaining itself as the third greatest cellular telephony operator in Chile. In addition, this project helps Poch to deepen in its experience in mobile technologies, field in which it stands out today, for its capacity of project management in multiple sites, acquisition management, construction administration and integration of antennas to the cellular network.
