Poch develops the Engineering of the first Lithium Chloride plant for the Sociedad Chilena del Litio Ltda.
Description of the Project:
The Sociedad Chilena del Litio (SCL) was formed in 1980. Today it is a member of the international group Chemetall.
La Negra plant receives the material extracted from the Atacama salt pan, which is the greatest lithium reserve in the world, with an average concentration ten times greater than the saline deposits in the United States.
Chile has 70% of the world reserves and participates with a 40% of the world production of this mineral, which is used in fields as varied as the industry of aluminum and the pharmaceutical industry.
The lithium chloride plant was built in 1998 and the entire project lasted around a year and a half.
Our importance:
Poch participated in the development of the Detail Engineering of the civil structural, mechanical and piping, electrical and instrumentation specialties, and automation.
In addition, Poch was responsible for the Project Management and Construction Management, and Technical Inspectionl.
