Committed to the sustainability of its operations, the environmental team of Poch has obtained the climatic neutral certification, given by the German association First Climate, in September 2008.
The certification process began with the development of an inventory of the Greenhouse Gases (GHG) emissions, generated as part of office activities and company business trips. Then these emissions were compensated through sustainable project investments, acquiring verified emission reduction credits (VERs).
The first project selected corresponds to the Mini Hydro Electric Paraíso, developed by Energías do Brasil, in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul. Through hydro power generation, Energías do Brasil look to counteract the progressive number of thermoelectric generators in the country. The second project refers to an initiative of Carbon Retaining, through the reforestation of small and medium sized farms in Costa Rica.
Poch responds to climatic change, investing in sustainable projects that help in the reduction of Greenhouse Gases.
